A local favorite hidden between weathered limestone cliffs, Praia da Coelha features a distinctive sea arch, crystal-clear calm waters, and a relaxed atmosphere. The scenic 400m walk through olive and carob trees adds to its hidden gem appeal.

Praia da Coelha, meaning 'Rabbit Beach,' is a true hidden gem that remains a favorite with locals who appreciate its relaxed atmosphere and natural beauty. Tucked between highly weathered limestone cliffs about 6km west of Albufeira, this sandy cove features distinctive sea formations including a small natural arch that has become one of its signature features. Reaching the beach requires a pleasant 400-meter walk from the car park, passing through a scenic landscape of olive trees, ancient carob trees, and bamboo groves. This short journey adds to the sense of discovery and helps keep the beach less crowded than the more accessible spots in Albufeira proper. The beach itself is well-equipped with a restaurant directly on the sand (Restaurante Praia da Coelha), sun loungers for hire, lifeguards in summer, and clean facilities including toilets and showers. Despite these amenities, it maintains a peaceful character—even during summer weekends, it never feels as crowded as the larger Albufeira beaches. The calm, clear waters make it excellent for swimming and snorkeling.
