Praia da Ingrina

Praia da Ingrina is one of the Algarve's best-kept secrets - a small, shell-shaped cove where the water is so clear you can see fish swimming from the shore. Located just 15 minutes from Sagres on the Costa Vicentina, this beach offers a dramatically different experience from the wild, wave-battered beaches nearby. The sheltered position means calm, warm water that's perfect for snorkeling and safe swimming. The beach takes its character from the natural rock pier that extends into the water on the eastern side, creating a protected swimming area. This same formation provides excellent snorkeling territory, with underwater rocks colonized by colorful marine life. The visibility here is exceptional - often 10 meters or more - making it one of the best spots in the region for underwater exploration without diving equipment. Historically, Ingrina was a tuna fishing station, and you can still see remnants of the old fishing infrastructure. Today, a single excellent restaurant overlooks the beach, serving fresh fish to visitors who've discovered this peaceful spot. Despite its beauty, Ingrina remains relatively uncrowded even in summer, as many tourists head to the more famous beaches of Sagres and Lagos.
